It's all about the honeybees at Savannah Bee Company. They aim to be the company customers trust in providing the best of the best when it comes to honey and honey products. Their previous setup was disjointed; an ecommerce site on BigCommerce with a completely separate POS system across their 14 retail stores. They came to Coldsmoke looking for support in creating an omnichannel experience to improve business operations and customer experience, with the shared goal of business growth.
How we did it
Savannah Bee Company came to us to assist them with a replatform from BigCommerce to Shopify Plus. After completing a Discovery, it was clear that there were opportunities to improve the mobile buying journey through a UI/UX refresh, and also provide strategic guidance around building a scalable technical foundation and overall ecommerce functionality. We crafted a plan that would increase revenue, increase conversion rates, and create a true omnichannel commerce experience for their customers and their operations.
We began the design process, working collaboratively with their in-house creative department. Together, we focused on improving the buying journey, particularly on mobile, while also focusing on their educational and mission-driven content, which remains at the heart of their "why" for existing.Meanwhile, we got to work laying the foundation for the data migration from BigCommerce to Shopify Plus. We migrated customer data and accounts, order history, gift cards, and educational content from blogs. After the design was finalized, we got to work developing the custom Shopify 2.0 theme and setting up integrations with all necessary backoffice functionalities. The final result is a truly omnichannel experience that integrates a scalable Shopify Plus technology layer both online and in their 14 retail stores through Shopify POS. The results speak for themselves, as they had their best Black Friday Cyber Monday ever, and are now set for growth both on the frontend and the backend.
